‘Illegal Protests Bring Results’

Government should never reward illegal protest. It invites more of the same and encourages disrespect for the law. As well, the federal government needs to remind aboriginal leadership that the waters off B.C.’s coast are Canada’s territorial waters…

“Talks with senior B.C. government officials were prompted by {illegal} fish-farm occupations last fall.”

“A B.C. provincial advisory council is recommending that fish farm companies be required to have agreements in place with local ‘First Nations’ {‘aboriginal communities’} before the province approves any new or replacement tenures…

“Protesters have {illegally} occupied multiple fish farms in the Broughton Archipelago over the past year {See below}, claiming they are operating in ‘First Nations’ ‘traditional territories’ without their consent.
{These, of course, are Canadian territorial waters…} Continue reading ‘Illegal Protests Bring Results’

‘Anglican Karma?’

For years, the Anglican Church of Canada has been loudly and proudly proclaiming their support for ‘indigenous self-determination’. Now, ‘indigenous’ bishops in the church are refusing to go along with the church’s support for ‘same-sex’ marriage. They are trying to use their U.N.-created ‘Constitutional right’ to ‘Free, Prior and Informed Consent’ (FPIC) to either force the Anglican Church to reconsider, or create their own ‘self-determined’ ‘indigenous’ branch of the Church…

“The Anglican Church of Canada’s three ‘indigenous’ bishops have blasted their Church’s decision to approve, if only provisionally, changes to the marriage canon which would allow same-sex marriages… Continue reading ‘Anglican Karma?’

‘Ungrateful Chief Snubs Monarchy’

“A ceremony involving the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, meant to symbolize the {one-sided} reconciliation of British Columbia’s ‘aboriginal peoples’, has been rebuffed by a ‘First Nations’ group. {Which perfectly symbolizes the one-way nature of this so-called ‘reconciliation’…}

“Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, the leader of the ‘Union of B.C. Indian Chiefs’, said Monday he won’t be taking part or supporting the ‘Black Rod Ceremony’…involving Prince William and Kate.  Continue reading ‘Ungrateful Chief Snubs Monarchy’

‘Tribes Sign Treaty Opposing Pipelines’

“‘Indigenous’ ‘nations’ from across the country signed a “continent-wide ‘indigenous’ treaty” to oppose five oil pipelines awaiting approval across the country.

erbltribessigntreatyopposingpipelines800x800

{A small minority of Chiefs from across North America FLEW into Montreal and Vancouver for the ‘treaty’ signing. But none of them pledged to stop using oil or oil-based products. And they all still want money from the rest of us, while offering to contribute exactly nothing…}

“The…Native American tribes from Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario, the Prairies, British Columbia and the U.S. made the announcement in joint press conferences Thursday.  Continue reading ‘Tribes Sign Treaty Opposing Pipelines’

‘Chief Wants More Money’

Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day continues his push for a ‘partnership’ in the Ontario economy:

‘We Need To Be Full Partners in All Future Economic Growth through Treaty, ‘Inherent’ and Land Rights, Says Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day’

“This is the 166th anniversary of the signing of the ‘Robinson Huron Treaty’ {See below}. The lands and waters around Lakes Huron and Superior provided the resources for European settlers to farm, fish, mine and trade with our Peoples. The rich resources of our lands {and all the hard work, ingenuity and investment brought by Europeans and other immigrants from around the world} allowed the future economic growth of what would later become the Province of Ontario and the country of Canada.  Continue reading ‘Chief Wants More Money’

‘Dysfunctional Governance: Yukon’s Liard ‘First Nation’

“The Liard ‘First Nation’, {a ‘nation’ of 1,152 people} based in Watson Lake, Yukon, is asking the Federal Court to restore its control of the funding it receives from the federal government.ERBLDysfunctional Governance--Yukon's Liard ‘First Nation’800x800“The ‘First Nation’ has been under third-party management for two years. The condition was imposed after it fell more than $700,000 in debt and failed to abide by the ‘Federal ‘First Nations’ Transparency Act’.

“The third-party manager is an aboriginal-owned B.C. company called ‘Ganhada’. The firm said it does not comment on cases, but its relations with the Liard ‘First Nation’ have been rocky. When it was first appointed, it took seven months for Ganhada’s workers to gain access to ‘First Nation’ offices in Watson Lake.  Continue reading ‘Dysfunctional Governance: Yukon’s Liard ‘First Nation’

‘Is Canada Coming Unravelled?’

Most Canadians are blissfully unaware that many aboriginal leaders are attempting to create separate, independent ‘nations’ {countries} within the borders of Canada — ‘nations’ that would ignore Canadian law while still being subsidized by the Canadian people: ERBLIsCanadaComingUnravelled(2016)800x800“The proposed citizenship law forms a central component of a broader initiative which seeks to develop a self-governing Anishinabek ‘Nation’.”

Canadian aboriginals as a “third order of government” — Federal, Provincial and aboriginal — was rejected for inclusion in the 1982 Constitution, rejected in the five federal-provincial conferences held on this topic, and rejected by the Canadian people in the 1992 Charlottetown Referendum. The continued insistence on this by aboriginal leadership shows absolutely no respect for the wishes of the Canadian people, and the decisions of the Canadian democracy.  Continue reading ‘Is Canada Coming Unravelled?’

‘Aboriginals Must Join Canadian Mosaic’

“Not that long ago, it was a common belief that people from aboriginal communities would, over time, merge with the general population. As employment skills were acquired, people would leave reserves and compete for jobs and other benefits with other Canadians.

“That was certainly the belief of the men who wrote the ‘Indian Act’. Reserves, and the demeaning classification of aboriginal people as wards, were to come to a natural end when aboriginal people became a part of the modern community. ERBLAboriginalsMustJoinCanadian Mosaic800x800“That kind of thinking is now considered passé — almost quaint. It is now widely believed {at least in our universities} that aboriginal people should remain separate from the general population in self-governing tribal ‘nations’, where they are subject to a separate set of rights and benefits determined at birth by the race of their parents. These tribal ‘nations’ are envisioned as having their own economies. The Indian Act, or something similar, would forever treat aboriginal people differently from other Canadians.  Continue reading ‘Aboriginals Must Join Canadian Mosaic’

‘Appeasing Racial Nationalists’

“It is fashionable to blame the myriad of social pathologies rampant on many reserves on colonialism, residential schools, poverty, etc., but the real cause is never admitted: segregation.

“In demonizing assimilation (as if the virtue of social integration after Martin Luther King Jr wasn’t obvious), aboriginal nationalists legitimized segregation.”

–Michael MelansonERBLAppeasingRacialNationalists800x800I dislike nationalists, and racial and ethnic nationalists most of all. Aboriginal nationalism is racial nationalism and Derek Nepinak has been trying to advance that for some time now. He lives in a suburban home with a salary paid by the Government of Canada and is supposed to represent Manitoba’s chiefs (64 or so). No one asks Nepinak what nationhood for a remote reserve like Pauingassi actually means and it’s clear below that Nepinak hasn’t thought out what aboriginal “nationhood’ means in general. It’s like fertilizing the lawn with gasoline before a lightning storm.  Continue reading ‘Appeasing Racial Nationalists’

‘Playing Both Sides Of The Fence’

What constitutes a ‘traitor’? Here’s a northern Ontario chief who accepts the Canadian peoples’ money, uses aboriginal industry lawyers in Canadian courts to assert his ‘rights’ – but denies that he, or his people, are Canadians and insists that the Canadian and Ontario governments are ‘foreign’ and have no authority over his people, or the lands his ancestors surrendered via Treaty.

Now, this hypocrite has decided to “allow” polling stations on the reserves for the federal election, not only giving the Canadian citizens who reside there the chance to exercise their RIGHT to vote, but also tacitly admitting that they ARE, in fact, Canadians…

ERBLPlayingBothSidesOfTheFence800x800“A ‘First Nation’ in northeastern Ontario is welcoming polling stations for the first time in years, opting to give residents the chance to vote tactically, even though the community’s leader says they see the current federal campaign as a “foreign election.” Continue reading ‘Playing Both Sides Of The Fence’
